Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely

Now Amazon is buying other companies and can use their core business to skew market share in manipulative ways. A great example happened this weekend. A new book (written by a non-scientific activist) trashes a safe agricultural chemical. The book is sold on Amazon. A middle-school teacher wrote a review that was quite accurate according to the science.

Amazon took the review down. It was not inflammatory, it didn’t break any rules. It was a fair and solid criticism (see link below).

Why would Amazon defend a book against a clarifying note about ag chemistry?

They just bought Whole Foods. Whole Foods market share is in part driven by fear of agricultural genetics, chemistry and production practices.

It is the only thing that makes sense. I wrote about it here: http://kfolta.blogspot.com/2017/10/amazon-deletes-review-protects-bottom.html
